NFL FLAG Football League Health & Safety Policy
Purpose:
To ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all players, volunteer parent coaches, officials, and spectators participating in NFL FLAG football activities.

Purpose:
To ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all players, volunteer parent coaches, officials, and spectators participating in NFL FLAG football activities.
1. Field Safety & Maintenance
- Conduct pre-game inspections for uneven terrain, debris, or hazards.
- Ensure fields are properly marked and maintained to meet league standards.
- Remove any obstacles that could pose a risk to players.
- Players must ensure;
- Mouthguards are MANDATORY in order to play (required to prevent dental injuries and reduce concussion risk).
- Properly fitted flag belts
- No baseball hats, jewelry
- Hair must be tied back
- If wearing glasses or sunglasses, they must be secured with an athletic strap
- Metal cleats are NOT permitted
- Each field must have a fully stocked first aid kit with supplies for treating cuts, bruises, sprains, and other minor injuries.
- Develop and communicate an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) to coaches, officials, and volunteers.
- Ensure quick access to emergency medical services when needed.
- Encourage families to perform health assessments before attending games.
- Promote hand hygiene and provide sanitizing stations when possible.
- Follow local health guidelines regarding communicable diseases.
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment free of violence, bullying, drugs, tobacco, and alcohol.
- Encourage sportsmanship and respect among players, volunteer parent coaches, officials, league operators and spectators.
