Code of Conduct - Player
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
BE ON TIME
• Your warm-ups and games will have a beginning and ending time, any extra minute a person is late is a minute lost. Be reliable. Team members rely on each other to show up and be on time - a player down is a huge disadvantage even if it is only a few minutes.
RESPECT AND GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP
• There is no tolerance for violence or disrespect between team members. It is encouraged that everyone participates and feels confident. This will only be a result of respect and care. Respect includes listening to each members opinions and comments, inclusion - no discrimination or stereotyping members - and simply supporting and being kind to one another. Demonstrating respect to individuals regardless of body type, physical characteristics, athletic ability, gender, ancestry, colour, ethical or racial origin, nationality, national origin, sexual orientation, age, religion, or disability. Good sportsmanship is a fundamental lesson we wish to teach our athletes. Swearing, verbal or physical aggression, bullying, malicious teasing or excessive argumentativeness on the part of any participant toward another participant including volunteers, parents, Officials, or spectators is unacceptable and WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT
• As some games will be hosted in facilities or outdoor locations, it is critical you respect the space/facility you are playing in. There will be no tolerance for damaging fields, courts or any equipment that is at venues.
FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE GAME
• You are playing in an official NFL Flag league and cannot create your own rules. You must follow the instructions of the Officials and follow the rules of play. The Officials may banish from the field and its vicinity and person who is interfering with the game in an inappropriate fashion, such as constant arguing or badgering. Parent volunteers are expected to display an attitude of respect towards the Officials and ensure their players do the same.
EQUAL TIME RULES
• Each player is entitled to an equitable amount of playing time throughout the regular season and playoffs. There is a position for everyone. We ask that you participate to the best of your abilities and put forth your best effort regardless of experience. Most importantly HAVE FUN!
NO COARSE LANGUAGE
• We will not tolerate inappropriate language as an individual expression or towards others. If you chose to conduct yourself in this manner you will be asked to leave the vicinity.
PROPER NOTICES
• We ask that players provide 24-hour notice to their team if they cannot attend a game. This will at least give your team enough time to prepare for a team with one less player or find a replacement.
AMBASSADORS
• Remember that as a participant of an official NFL Flag League, you are an ambassador and role model of the sport and organization. By adhering to the Code of Conduct, it will ensure you are representing the sport and community in a positive manner.
